Principle of operation

CO₂ is a colorless and odorless gas that occurs naturally in the environment and in the human body as a result of combustion of organic matter in cellular respiration. It is produced in our body constantly, both at rest and in the active state. The carboxytherapy uses exactly this natural resource for the benefit of our body. The gas CO₂ is the specific and meet certain criteria. The equipment controlling the flow rate of gas, the dose and the time of injection. The introduction of CO₂ is carried out through a fine needle and a flexible tube disposable computerized system.

The main effect of the introduction of CO₂ is hyperdistensis of subcutaneous tissue, which can be observed by subcutaneous emphysema allocated a small area around the point of application. This can lead to the appearance of erythema, accompanied by a feeling of warmth. Patients immediately feel the effects of vascular activity of CO₂, which causes the release of substances such as serotonin, histamine and catecholamine release. After the injection of CO₂, the body recognizes a local imbalance of oxygen and thus in order to compensate for this situation oxyhaemoglobin increasing the localized flow of O₂, which causes vasodilation and an increase in oxygen level in the tissue. In turn, the hemoglobin is associated with the CO₂, which is introduced into the body and allows oxygen to the tissues, leading to a further improvement of the local oxygenation. This leads to the increase of the blood flow rate and the opening of the capillaries, which in the normal state are closed. Another reaction in the skin in response to the introduction of CO₂ is the lowering of the pH of the tissues with the production of NO, which together with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) leads to capillary vasodilatation of arterioles with consequent improvement of the microcirculation, an increase in flow and other food kislirod substances in the treated tissue. The change in pH triggers the release of various chemical compounds that activate and promote cell migration of fibroblasts, followed by stimulation of the healing process.
